A Marshall woman and an Otterville man were injured in an ATV crash that occurred Sunday in Cooper County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Caitlyn M. Slaughter of Marshall and 21-year-old Joseph R. Hogan of Otterville, were riding a 2020 Polaris RZR at 5424 Rockland Lane (northeast of Otterville) around 6:45 p.m., when the ATV, driven by Hogan, traveled off the right side of the roadway into a curve, struck multiple trees and overturned.

Hogan suffered moderate injuries, while Slaughter suffered serious injuries. Slaughter was transported by Cooper County EMS to Bothwell Regional Health Center, while Hogan was transported by private vehicle. Neither were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

Cooper County Deputies assisted the Patrol.

Hogan was later arrested by the Patrol and charged with driving while intoxicated persistent offender, driving while revoked or suspended, operating a motor vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility, and failure to wear a seat belt.
