A Warrensburg teen was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday evening in Johnson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2003 Chevy S-10 driven by 17-year-old Jacob R. Palmer of Warrensburg was traveling on Highway 50, 1198 feet west of County Road NW 671 at 8:20 p.m. at an excessive speed when the truck hydroplaned on the wet roadway.

The Chevy then traveled off the right side of the roadway, overturned and struck several trees.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was completely ejected as the vehicle overturned.

The vehicle came to rest on its tires in a ditch.

Palmer was transported by JCAD to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment.

The S-10 was totaled and towed by Tip Top Towing.
