Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred Monday afternoon in Johnson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2007 Ford Fusion was being driven westbound in the eastbound lanes of US 50 at Missouri Route AA just after 12 p.m., when the 72-year-old driver from Colony, Kansas, attempted to make a U-turn in the median and struck an eastbound 2023 Chevy Silverado, driven by a 24-year-old man from Otterville.

The driver of the Ford suffered moderate injuries and his passenger, a 4-year-old boy, also from Colony, Kansas, suffered minor injuries.

Both were transported by JCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.
