The City of Sedalia’s Street Division and Water Division contractors continue working to make improvements to the City’s streets and water distribution system.

The following streets will be affected by roadway repairs and installation of water mains and service lines during the next week.

 The 2500 block of S. Quincy Ave. will be restricted to one lane of traffic beginning at 7:30 a.m., Wed., May 5, 2021 through Fri., May 7, 2021 at 7:30 a.m. to allow for repair of the roadway after recent work on a sewer line.

 E. 5th St. between S. Lamine Ave. and S. Massachusetts Ave. will be closed to through traffic from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Thurs., May 6, 2021. Businesses and residences in the block will be allowed to access their driveways as the work is completed.

 S. Lamine Ave. between E. 6th St. and E. 7th St. will be closed Mon., May 10 at 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Fri., May 14, 2021 to allow for installation of water service lines to businesses and residences and to allow for tying of new water mains into the City’s water distribution system.

The City apologized for any inconvenience the road closures and lane restrictions may cause as they work to improve the water utility services in these areas.

The work is weather and equipment dependent and the re-opening dates may be affected by inclement weather or equipment breakdowns, it was noted.
