The City of Sedalia will temporarily shut off water service on two sections of South Grand Avenue next week as part of a major infrastructure improvement project.

Due to a change in the contractor’s availability, the water shutoff originally planned for
Monday (5/5) and Tuesday (5/6) has been rescheduled to this Thursday, May 8, from
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. During this time, water will be off for residents along South
Grand Avenue from approximately W. 24th Street to W. 28th Street, including La Grand
Drive between W. 26th and W. 27th Streets.

An additional water service interruption is scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, from 8
a.m. to 5 p.m. affecting South Grand Avenue from W. 16th Street to W. 20th Street.
This work is part of a $4 million investment in Sedalia’s water infrastructure, aimed at
replacing aging water mains to reduce service disruptions, increase water pressure,
and improve long-term reliability for residents and businesses.

City employees have been hand-delivering door hangers to notify residents who will be impacted by these temporary outages.

Once service is restored, a precautionary boil advisory will be in effect for up to 24 hours to ensure water safety. Updates will be posted on the City’s website and social media pages.

"We appreciate the community’s patience as we complete these critical improvements.
For more information, please contact the Public Works Department at (660) 827-3000," The City said in a press release.
