Connect Project between Katy Trail & Liberty Park begins today
Beginning today, April 29, contractor Rhad A. Baker Construction LLC will begin work on approximately 5,983 feet of hard surface trail running the length of West 3rd Street on the south side from the Katy Depot to Liberty Park.
The trail is designed to accommodate both cyclists and pedestrians, with a dedicated 10-foot-wide path all being built on the city’s existing right of way.
The trail will be fully ADA compliant. This project was funded in part by a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant. The work will begin at West 3rd St. and South Sneed Ave. and will progress to the east.
The project is estimated to be complete by the middle of October. Workers will be present along the roadway during this period, so please use caution when traveling through this area.
Inclement weather or equipment breakdowns could delay completion, it was noted.
