17-year-old Sedalia suspect arrested for a $36.85 gas drive off

At 2:21 Tuesday afternoon Sedalia police were dispatched to the Casey’s Store at 1601 East Broadway on a $36.85 gas drive off. Upon arrival the store manager provided the police with a license number of the suspect’s vehicle.  The officers went to the suspect’s home and arrested him. At the time of the police report 17-year-old Barry Carle Rivera of Sedalia was in the Pettis County jail pending formal charges of stealing.

Identification theft complaint investigated by Sedalia Police Tuesday

Around 2:30pm Tuesday afternoon Sedalia Police investigated an identification theft complaint in the 700 block of East 32nd. According to the complainant his sister and her son had obtained four credit cards in his mother’s name, created a Google Wallet Account in her name, and stole $600 worth of silver dollars from her. There was no other information in the police report.

Thief steals a laptop computer from a sleeping woman early Tuesday morning

Just before 10am Tuesday morning a victim in the 600 block of West 4th reported her laptop computer was stolen sometime between mid-night and 4am that morning. The victim said the thief entered the residence through a locked door, and took the laptop off of the bed that she was sleeping in. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.

Vandals use a BB gun and bricks to damage a man’s truck Monday evening

At 5:37 Monday Evening Sedalia Police officers investigated a case of property damage in the 500 block of West 5th. According to the victim someone shot a BB gun at his windshield several times, and then threw bricks through the side windows. At the time of the police report there were no suspects.
