Do you want to learn how to run your farm as a business?  Do you want to learn how to do a better job of marketing or how to pass the farm to the next generation?  Join Annie’s Project.

Annie’s Project is a class designed just for farm women.  They cover everything from the economics of land ownership, land rental contracts, understanding fence laws in Missouri, livestock, grain, risk management, farm record keeping, taxes, insurance and a whole lot of other stuff you never knew you’d need to know.   The whole goal of the class is to empower farm women and help them make better decisions by being more informed.  The people who have been helped by the program are all over the place, and it helps them to learn as much from each other as it does from the course teachers.

Another great thing is that the class is partially funded by a grant.  But there is a slight cost for this seven week course, $75, which covers all other expenses. The class is being offered by the University of Missouri Extension including seven evening sessions on Thursday, Jan. 30, February 6, 13, 20, 27 and March 6 and 13.  The classes will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Henry County Courthouse in Clinton.

These classes will be limited in size, and only the first twenty or so will be able to enroll.  So you’d better get signed up!  For more information or to request a brochure, call or stop by the Henry County Extension Center at 660-885-5556 or email henryco@missouri.edu.
