A Holden man died in a motorcycle accident that occurred Monday morning in Johnson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2000 Suzuki motorcycle, driven by 36-year-old Ronnie R. Joy of Holden, was on US 50, one-tenth of a mile east of County Road 1201 Road, just before 6 a.m., when Joy attempted to pass a westbound 2023 Ford F-150, driven by 59-year-old Tracy J. Welhoff of Centerview, and the motorcycle struck the front driver's side of the Ford and the Suzuki overturned and ejected the rider.

Joy was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by JCAD, where he was pronounced dead at 6:56 a.m., by ER Dr. Degner.
