WalletHub has put together a new survey that compares the average credit scores of residents in 2,570 cities across the United States. Compared to the entire country, our regional results aren't all that impressive. They're also not terrible. But it's fun to look at how individual cities across west central and central Missouri rank against one another.

According to WalletHub, here the average credit scores of Warrensburg residents are a little better than Sedalia residents. Both cities do better than Kansas City and Independence, but fall short of Lee's Summit, Liberty, Columbia and Jefferson City.

Here are are the rankings of cities within our region in the WalletHub survey:

  • Liberty (753)
  • Columbia (857)
  • Jefferson City (1072)
  • Warrensburg (1221)
  • Sedalia (1550)
  • Independence (1829)
  • Kansas City (1912)

Overall, the cities that ranked the highest in the survey were: The Villages, FL (1); Sun City West, Arizona (2); and Saratoga, California (3). The lowest ranking cities were: Harvey, IL (2658); East St. Louis, IL (2659); and Camden, NJ (2570).

Wilmette, IL (15), Leawood, KS (16) and Chesterfield, MO (24) were the top ranking cities in the Midwest.
