Pomajzl, shown with S-C wrestling head coach Charlie McFail, left, and Jenkins, right, finished second in the Class 4 District tournament and made it to the third round in the 138-pound class at the state tournament.

A junior, Pomajzl has qualified for the state tournament all three years of high school. He surpassed the 100 career wins mark this season and set the school record for most takedowns in a career. He closed the 2016-17 season with a 39-8 record.

Each week, alternating between Smith-Cotton and Sacred Heart high schools, local State Farm agent Bryan Jenkins honors an outstanding local student-athlete.
