Here's a look at some of the many goings on this weekend!

The St Paul’s Church will be having their annual Rummage and Bake Sale.

They’ll have a wide range of articles and homemade baked items.  It’ll take place on Friday, May 31 from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.   The Sale will be at the School Gym, 701 South Massachusetts.  Proceeds will benefit the repair the church foundation.

The Pettis County Farm Bureau will have an Open House.

Join them for free lunch on Friday  May 31st from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the office, 2418 South Limit in Sedalia (next to Orscheln’s).  You can enter to win a Ford F-150 and other door prizes.  They’ll have a drawing for a Farm Bureau Day at the ballpark, where you can win 4 tickets and a $50 gas card for the July 25 game of the Cardinals vs the Philadelphia Phillies.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Pettis County is June 1, 2013 at Jenny Jaynes Stadium.

The Shrine Breakfast is Open to the Public.

It’ll be held on June 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at 1375 Elm Hills Blvd for a cost of $6.  For to go orders call 660-281-3619 or 660-826-6171.

The City Wide Green Ridge Garage Sale is coming up.

There will be a city wide garage sale on June 1 at various locations in Green Ridge.  Cruise the streets to find them.  Sponsored by the Green Ridge Chamber of Commerce.

The Midwest Dragfest for Kids will take place on June 1 and 2. 

It’ll be held on the Missouri State Fairgrounds and all the proceeds will go to the Children’s Therapy Center and the Central Missouri Food Bank.  On Friday they begin at 5:00 p.m. with vendor setup and registration.  On Saturday at 8:00 a.m. the gates open and judging starts at 9:00 a.m.   The events start at 4:00 p.m.  On Sunday, the judging starts at 9:00 a.m.  and at 10:00 a.m. the gates open to the public.   For information, call Justin at 660-553-7272, or email mwdfredsurrection@gmail.com .  You can also find them on Facebook.

AnimalFAIR has dogs & puppies available for adoption.

Readers of all ages will explore all things underground this summer at Boonslick Regional Library in Sedalia.  

The 2013 Summer Reading Program, Dig Into Reading, are open to youth ages preschool through young adult and include story time, book clubs, reading clubs, prize drawings, demonstrations, teen programs, contests and more.  Kids and teens can win prizes and enter drawings.  There will be a Fun with Archaeology party on Saturday June 1 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Members of the West Central Missouri Archaeology Society will guide you through fun activities.  Sign up for all programs begins June 1.  To participate in programs,  a Boonslick library card is required.  For more information, call 827-READ (827-7323).

The Mike Burkhalter Memorial Truck and Tractor pull will be on Saturday, June 1. 

The 24th annual Sanctioned Truck and Tractor Pull (MSTPA and MMTTPA rules apply) will begin at 7:00 p.m.  The gates open at 5:00 p.m. and the pit area opens at 2:30 p.m.  The cost for general admission is $10, pit admission is $15, kids 6-10 are $5 and under 6 years of age get in free.  The ticket booth will be open at 5:00 p.m. the day of the event. A City wide Garage Sale and Car Show will take place in Cole Camp on Saturday, June 1.

The Sedalia Lions Club’s annual Blues, Cruise, and BBQ is June 1.

There will be:  a two Mile Run/Walk for the Q (BBQ), Car Show, Live Music, Amateur Tailgate BBQ Competition, and more. The St Paul’s Lutheran Church will host a fish fry and turkey dinner. 

It’ll be held at the church, 205 West Jefferson Street in Cole Camp on June 2.  Serving time is from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.  The cost is a free will donation, and proceeds will go to ending world hunger.

Spofest will have their next reading on June 2. 

SpoFest, which turned two-years old on May 14th of this year, will celebrate by having a very special spoken word event at the Montserrat Vineyards on June 2nd from 5 to 8:30 pm.  There will be plenty of readings, musicians, free giveaways, a game or two and raffle and auction.  Admission is free. More details and directions to Montserrat Vineyards can be found at SpoFest.com.

The Bethany Baptist Church will host their Vacation Bible School – Colossal Coaster World.

It’ll be held from Sunday June 2 through Friday, June 7 at the church, 500 North Park Avenue, in Sedalia.  Colossal Coaster World will challenge kids to face their fears and trust God.  A meal will be served each evening at 5:30 p.m. and classes and activities follow from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.  The VBS is for children aged 5 (or Kindergarten age) through Grade 6.   To enroll, call 660-826-8743 or email bethany.baptist@sbcglobal.net.  Visit www.bethanybaptistsedalia.org for more information.
