State Fair Community College's outstanding point guard Kenny Cherry announced on Tuesday (Dec. 18) that he has verbally committed to Baylor University. Kenny has been recruited by a number of schools since the beginning of the year, despite getting hurt in the second game of the season.

McDonald’s Classic Results in Great Start For Roadrunners’ Basketball
The 2012-2013 basketball season got under way this past weekend at State Fair Community College during the McDonald's Classic.The Lady Roadrunners played two tough teams to start the season off. They defeated Vincennes Community College 74-50 and beat Kaskaskia 63-57 on Saturday night. The ladies return back at home Wednesday night at 6 p.m. against Lincoln Trails.

It's hard to believe I will be starting my 27th year of being associated with State Fair Basketball, most of those years as the play-by-play guy, a few years as the PA announcer but always a fan. I have seen some great players come through those blue doors and have a ton of great memories. I am looking forward to a great season for both teams and it all gets started November 2 and 3 with the McDonald's Classic.

State Fair Community College Athletics Joins Midwest Community College Athletic Conference
State Fair Community College (SFCC) Athletic Director Darren Pannier announced today that they have been voted into the Midwest Community College Athletic Conference (MCCAC). "This is a dream come true for all of us in the Athletics Department," Pannier said. "Gaining admission into the conference has been a nine-year process. We are thrilled to be a part of the MCCAC. It will be good for our athletes and for everyone who supports SFCC."
