UPDATE: Reginald L. Singletary of Warrensburg has been charged with one count of first degree murder and one count of armed criminal action.  His bond was set at $1,000,000.

Ziyad T. Abid of Warrensburg has been charged with one count of first degree murder and one count of armed criminal action.  Bond was set at $1,000,000 and Abid was ordered to surrender his passport and documents allowing travel outside the continental United States, including his pilot's license.

Both men remain in custody in the Johnson County Jail

According to Warrensburg Police Chief Bruce Howey, two men have been arrested in connection with the William "Blaine" Whitworth homicide in Warrensburg on September 2.

27-year-old Reginald L. Singletary of Warrensburg was arrested in Sedalia and brought to Warrensburg to be questioned by Major Case Squad investigators.  After questioning, Singletary was booked on first degree murder and armed criminal action charges.  He was transported to the Johnson County Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

23-year-old Ziyad T. Abid was also arrested by Warrensburg Police in Warrensburg and booked on first degree murder.  He was also transported to the Johnson County Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

The Missouri Rural Major Case Squad met for the first time yesterday morning (September 4) for a briefing on the case.  There were 69 leads that the Missouri Rural Major Case Squad followed.
