Archie Man Dies in Head-on Collision

An Archie man died in a head-on collision that occurred in Cass County on Sunday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2020 Chevy Blazer, driven by 30-year-old Delbert L. Hannah of Archie, was on Missouri 291 at East 215th Street around 6 p.m, when he overcorrected after passing traffic, and traveled into the oncoming lane and struck a northbound 20202 Dodge Ram 3500 head-on.

Hannah was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:19 p.m. by Medical Examiner K. Pitsenbarger.

The driver of the Dodge, 61-year-old Donald E. Beckerdite of Raymore, suffered serious injuries, and was transported to Research Hospital in Kansas City.

Both vehicles were totaled.

Cass County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
