ATV Accident Injures Sweet Springs Man

A Sweet Springs man was injured in an ATV accident in Johnson County on Saturday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 56-year-old Harry E. Peeples of Sweet Springs was operating a 2019 Polaris ATV on NE 105 Road, west of NE 1301 Road at 6:30 p.m. when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and overturned.

Peeples was transported by JCAD to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The report stated that Peeples was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.

He was later arrested by the Patrol at 7:25 p.m. and charged with felony DWI, as well as unlawfully operating an off-road recreational vehicle on the highway.
