Autopsy Results Revealed in Gasconade County Murders
On Sept. 19 the autopsies of the 37-year-old Monty Jason Barton and four-year-old Bentlee J. Turner were conducted at the University of Missouri, by the Boone County Medical Examiner Office.
The autopsies revealed the cause of death to be a single gunshot wound to the head of the child and a single gunshot wound to the head of the adult.
Based upon the result of each autopsy and investigation to date, this is consistent with the homicide of Bentlee J. Turner and self-inflicted gunshot wound of Monty Jason Barton, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Investigation into the circumstances of the incident will continue.
