
Blue Springs Woman Killed, Six others Injured In I-70 Crash
A Blue Springs woman was killed and six others injured in a two-car crash that occurred early Sunday morning in Lafayette County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2017 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 46-year-old Terry D. Ashley of Blue Springs, was on I-70 at the 45.8 mile marker just before 1 a.m., when the Elantra struck a stationary towed unit from a previous crash, and traveled into the path of a westbound 2023 Hyundai Palisade, driven by 33-year-old Shelby R. Brewer of Edmond, Okla.
A passenger in the Elantra, 37-year-old Jennifer L. Farley of Blue Springs, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:14 a.m., Sunday by Lafayette County Deputy Sheriff Sanders. The body was taken to Stewart-Hoefer Funeral Home in Higginsville.

Ashley suffered serious injuries, as did his passengers 35-year-old James V. Brewer, (minor); a 13-year-old male (minor); and a one-year-old girl (minor), all three of Edmond, Okla.
Brewer suffered moderate injuries, as did passenger 43-year-old Katrina M. Dolezal of Oklahoma City.
All the injured were transported to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence for treatment.
Both vehicles were totaled.
Lafayette County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
