A Clinton couple were injured when an ATV they were in overturned in Henry County Monday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2012 Polaris Ranger, driven by 48-year-old Michael K. Simmons of Clinton, was at 1045 NE 31st Road (southwest of Leeton)  just before 9 p.m., when the ATV ran off the left side of the road and overturned.

Michael suffered moderate injuries, while his passenger, 48-year-old Marlene A. Simmons of Clinton, suffered serious injuries. Both were transported to Research Medical Center for treatment.

Michael Simmons was later arrested for driving while intoxicated at 9:20 p.m.
