A Clinton man was injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday morning in Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2025 Kenworth 310, driven by a 34-year-old man from Clinton, was on I-49 at the 165.8 mile marker around 8:30 a.m., when the Kenworth struck the trailer of a northbound 2017 International, driven by a 58-year-old man from Jarrel, Texas. The Kenworth then began to skid, and the cab of the Kenworth separated, rolled and came to rest in the median. The towed unit of the Kenworth came to rest in the roadway, blocking both lanes.

The International came to a controlled stop on the shoulder.

The Clinton driver suffered moderate injuries and was transported by West Peculiar Fire to Belton Regional Hospital.
