A Deepwater teen was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred in Henry County Tuesday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by 19-year-old Sarah Hills of Deepwater was on Route ZZ, south of SE 951 Private Road at 9:25 p.m., when the driver swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway, ran off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and a road sign.

Hills suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Golden Valley Hospital for treatment. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Mitsubishi had minor damage.
