
Driver Falls Asleep, Crashes Into Tree in Johnson County
A Warrensburg woman was seriously injured Friday afternoon when she fell asleep at the wheel in Johnson County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 52-year-old Fufen Zhang was the driver of an eastbound 2007 Toyota Corolla on US 50, west of County Road 250 at 4:15 p.m. when she fell asleep at the wheel and the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a tree and came to rest in the median.
Zhang was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg by JCAD. She was wearing a safety device, according to the report.
The Corolla was totaled and towed from the scene.
A total of five Troopers were on the scene.
