Fog Blamed For Johnson County Crash Friday Morning
A Green Ridge man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred in Johnson County Friday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2002 Mercedes ML500 was on Route D, south of Route Y at 6:50 a.m., when the driver failed to notice the intersection due to heavy fog, causing the vehicle to travel through the intersection and off the west side of Route D. The Mercedes struck an embankment and a fence before coming to rest, facing west against the fence.
The driver, 20-year-old Jaden T. Floyd of Green Ridge, suffered serious injuries and was transported by JCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
The Mercedes was totaled.
Johnson County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
