Head-on Crash Fatal for Higginsville Man

A two-car crash that occurred in Benton County has claimed the life of a Higginsville man.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2007 Ford on Missouri 7, south of Missouri KK, driven by 42-year-old Darin J. Lutman of Warsaw, crossed the center line just before 1 p.m. Monday and struck a southbound 2013 Dodge driven by 75-year-old Sondra J. Murrell of Higginsville. Murrell was killed in the accident. His passenger, 12-year-old Drake Murrell of Warsaw, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Golden Valley Medical Center.

Lutman suffered minor injuries and was transported by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance to Golden Valley Medical Center.

All three were wearing a safety device, according to the report.

Benton County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
