Houstonia Man Injured in Pettis County Accident

A Houstonia man was injured in a one vehicle accident that occurred Monday in Pettis County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Richard W. Hocking of Houstonia was the driver of an eastbound 2008 Toyota TC on Highway OO at Buncomb Road at 5:28 p.m. when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle when he overcorrected to avoid a westbound vehicle. The Toyota then traveled off the right side of the roadway, overturned and struck a ditch.

Hocking suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital by private party.

The Toyota had extensive damage.

Pettis County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
