Illinois Woman Drowns in Big River
An Illinois woman drowned in the Big River in Jefferson County on Tuesday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 33-year-old Guadalude L. Lopez of Madison, Illinois, entered the water at Rockford Park around 1 p.m., went under the surface and was unable to resurface due to her swimming ability.
Lopez was later pronounced deceased at 3:25 p.m., by High Ridge Paramedic personnel.

High Ridge Fire, Big River Ambulance District, Cedar Hill Fire Department and Jefferson County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
The Jefferson Medical Examiner transported the body to the St. Louis Regional Medical Examiner Office.
