A one-vehicle crash in Benton County sent a Kansas man to the hospital Wednesday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a northbound 1995 Chevrolet driven by 35-year-old Charles E. Malachek of Mission, Kansas, ran off the right side of Route M, north of Route V at 7:10 p.m., struck two MoDOT signs, struck another sign and overturned before coming to rest on the driver's side.

Malacheck was flown to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia by Life Flight Eagle with serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

The Chevy was totaled.

Benton County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
