An 11-year-old girl was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred early this morning in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2013 Buick Enclave, driven by 40-year-old Justin P. Peterman of Knob Noster, was on US Highway 50, east of the Muddy Creek Bridge just after midnight, when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned as it traveled through the median. The Buick came to rest on its top in the eastbound lanes of 50.

Injured was his passenger, an 11-year-old girl from Knob Noster. She was transported to Bothwell Regional Health center with minor injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The Buick had extensive damage and was towed by InMotion.
