A Knob Noster woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred early Tuesday morning in Johnson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2015 Chevrolet, driven by 51-year-old Kathy L. Lyons of Knob Noster, was on Route D at US 50 around 3:30 a.m., when she failed to stop at a stop sign while avoiding an animal in the roadway and traveled off the road, striking a ditch.

Lyons suffered moderate injuries and was transported by JCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.

The Chevy had extensive damage and was towed by Tip Top Towing, Warrensburg.

Johnson County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
