Sacred Heart with La Monte hosted the Blair Oaks Falcons at Clover Dell Park Wednesday night.

The Lady Gremlins were able to come away with a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the varsity game. Sacred Heart with La Monte controlled play with connected passing and aggressive defense.

The Falcons were able to get the first goal with a quick counterattack. Another quick counterattack lead to a penalty kick for Blair Oaks, which Mariah Van Leer turned away.

The Lady Gremlins quickly bounced back with two goals from Ebrinn Cahill before halftime. The Lady Gremlins continued to control the remainder of the game. They were unable to add to the lead, but kept the pressure on the Falcons for the win.

There were two goals recorded for sophomore Ebrinn Cahill and 13 saves, including a penalty kick by senior Mariah VanLeer in goal.

Sacred Heart with La Monte ended up with a sweep on the night with a win for the junior varsity. The single half played showed improvement all around. With one minute left in the JV game, Oliva Jones was able to find the back of the net to secure the victory.

The Lady Gremlins are now 3-3, they host Christian Fellowship on April 2 at Clover Dell Park with kick-off at 5 p.m, it will be a varsity-only match.

The Gremlins are coached by Head Coach Nick Turner, and assisted by Dan Cahill.
