Lady Roadrunners Softball Add Eight to 2018-2019 Team

State Fair Community College softball head coach Lyndsey Talbot has announced the addition of eight student-athletes to the 2018-2019 recruiting class. All of the student-athletes are from Missouri and will begin at SFCC in the fall.

Alex Gilliland is a corner infielder who played at Jefferson City High School for head coach Zach Miller. She earned first-team All-District honors four times during high school. She was named second-team All-Region once. Gilliland also was a team captain, and during her freshman season, she helped her team to a third-place finish in the state tournament. Gilliland has signed an Athletic Aid Letter of Intent.

“She is a very athletic player with power in her bat,” said Talbot. “Alex is a person who will be a good leader and a solid defender.”

Macey Stockman is an infielder/catcher from Blair Oaks High School where she played for head coach Sharon Buschjost. She was named first-team All-District, first-team All-Conference and second-team All-Region throughout high school. Stockman helped her team to second place finishes in the state tournament in 2016 and 2017. She has signed an Athletic Aid Letter of Intent.

“Macey has high character and works hard,” said Talbot. “We look forward to having her as part of our team.”

Liz Nimmer is an outfielder who played for head coach Austin Eickleberry at Warrensburg High School. She has signed an Athletic Aid Letter of Intent.

“Liz is another athletic, high character player,” said Talbot. “She also has a powerful bat.”

Ebonie Kemp is an outfielder who played at Battle High School in Columbia for head coach Joe Henderson. She has signed an Athletic Aid Letter of Intent.

“Ebonie is a player who has speed,” said Talbot. “I’ve seen her play all three outfield positions. She runs the bases well and is another quality student, which is something we look for in all the players that we bring into our program.”

Candace Caudle is a utility player who also played softball at Battle High School for Henderson. She has signed a Non-Athletic Aid Letter of Intent.

“We are excited to have two student-athletes from a high quality program like Battle,” said Talbot. “Candace is a hard worker and will be a great teammate.”

Abby Rapp is a pitcher/outfielder who played softball at King City High School. She earned second-team All-District and second-team All-Conference in 2016 and 2017. Rapp also is a standout track and field athlete who earned All-District and All-Conference honors throughout her high school and advanced to the state track meet in 2016. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has signed an Athletic Aid Letter of Intent.

“Abby is a high velocity pitcher who throws about 56 or 57 mph, which is good for this level,” said Lady Roadrunners softball assistant coach Haley Kinnison. “We just need to work on developing her spin. She has potential, is tall and has a good frame for a pitcher. Abby is another high character student-athlete. I know she is excited to get on campus, and we are excited to work with her.”

Kateyn Voris is a pitcher who played at Halfway High School for head coach Eric Ingram. Voris helped her team to the quarterfinal round of the state tournament in 2017. She has signed an Athletic Aid Letter of Intent.

Voris was a four-time first-team All-Conference and a first team All-District selection. She earned first-team All-Region honors once and second-team All-Region three times throughout high school.

“Voris has a good changeup to throw off a hitter’s timing at the plate,” said Kinnison. “She continues to develop her other pitches and is another high character student-athlete."

Jordan Fischer is a catcher who played at Montgomery County High School for head coach Audra Heimer. She earned second-team All-Conference honors as a senior in the Eastern Missouri Conference, first-team All-District behind the plate and second-team All-Region. As a junior, she garnered second-team All-District honors and first-team All-Conference. During her sophomore season, Fisher was named All-District, second-team All-Conference and Academic All-Conference for her classroom work. She has signed an Athletic Aid Letter of Intent.

“Jordan is a small catcher who has a good arm,” said Talbot. “Her blocking and framing technique is textbook. I’m also excited to get her bat in the lineup. Jordan is another quality student-athlete who will be a good addition to our team. She played traveling softball with current Lady Roadrunner Madison Love.”
