A 27-year old LaMonte man was arrested Sunday (Nov 5), after fleeing from a traffic crash near Moniteau and Morgan Counties.

According to a press release from the Moniteau County Sheriff's Department, authorities attempted to stop the vehicle in Tipton, when the vehicle began traveling west at a high rate of speed.

Officers pursued but the vehicle turned south, traveling into Morgan County.

Morgan County deputies also responded to the area and short time later the vehicle traveled off a gravel road, striking a utility pole.

The press release indicates the suspect, Christopher E. Odell, of LaMonte, then fled the crash site on foot, into the woods.

Deputies pursued Odell and apprehended him in the woods. Odell was found to be on probation and parole for dangerous drugs.

Authorities arrested Odell and issued several summons for his driving. Odell was taken to the Moniteau County Jail to await formal charges of Resisting Arrest by Fleeing.
