On Sunday morning at 7:15 a.m., Sedalia Police responded to 1023 South Lamine for a report of a burglary in progress.

The resident discovered an unknown male sleeping in a chair in his home. According to the report, the resident called a family member who also lives in the home, who was at work at the time. That family member returned home and held the suspect at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived.

The suspect was awake by the time law enforcement arrived.

And with the help of an interpreter, it was discovered that 22-year-old Jose F. Garcia Sotelo, who lives one block away, and while intoxicated, entered the home and fell asleep.

Sotelo was arrested for 1st degree trespassing and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.
