A Marietta, Georgia man was injured Monday night in Johnson County after being thrown from a motorcycle.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Jordan D. Shumaker was the driver of a southbound 2011 Kawasaki around 600 NE Missouri 23 at 9:45 p.m., when he lost control of the bike, and traveled off the right side of the roadway. The bike struck an embankment and ejected the driver.

Shumaker suffered serious injuries and was transported to Centerpoint Hospital for medical treatment.

The Kawasaki was totaled.

Johnson County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
