Sedalia Police arrested 43-year-old Michael Dickerson of Marshall after conducting a traffic stop at 3rd and Harrison Sunday evening.

According to a report, officers observed a silver Mercury Sable driving in the area of Wilkerson and South Prospect Sunday evening around 5:30 p.m. Dispatch advised that the vehicle was stolen, and was also listed under a missing person entry.

Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop near 3rd and Harrison, but the driver failed to yield, and headed west on 3rd Street.  The vehicle then stopped in the area of 3rd and Grand.

Officers exited their vehicles and conducted a high risk traffic stop, approached the suspect vehicle, and removed the suspect, taking him into custody.

The vehicle's stolen status was confirmed out of Saline County. The suspect was also listed as a missing person, which was confirmed with Saline County.  The suspect also had an active full US extradition warrant out of Saline County that was confirmed by hard copy.

The warrant, for Bond Supervision Violation on original charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, carried a $10,000 cash-only bond.

Dickerson was taken into custody and transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center to be cleared for confinement, then transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Charges of 1st degree Tampering With a Motor Vehicle and Resisting Arrest were filed with the Pettis County Prosecutor, along with the warrant.
