Marshall Woman Injured After Striking John Deere Tractor

A Marshall woman was moderately injured in a vehicle vs tractor accident that occurred in Lafayette County on Saturday evening.

According to the MSHP, 77-year-old Melissa G. Girven of Marshall was the driver of a westbound 2016 Ford on  Wheatley Road, west of Boundary Road at 7:03 p.m. when her vision was obstructed by the sun as she traveled around a curve and hit an eastbound John Deere tractor driven by 65-year-old Richard A. Sedge of Mayview.

Girven was transported by private vehicle to St. Luke's in Lee's Summit for treatment.

The Ford was totaled and towed from the scene. The tractor had minor damage and was driven from the scene.
