17-year-old Cole Camp woman injured in a rear-end collision Sunday afternoon

At 3:25pm Sunday afternoon the Missouri state Highway patrol reported an injury accident on Missouri Highway-52 east of Morarity Avenue in Benton County. The accident reportedly occurred as the 2007 Mazda 31 driven by 17-year-old Megan D. Horner of Cole Camp stopped to make a left hand turn, and was struck in the rear by a 2006 Ford F-150 driven by 27-year-old Derek S. Eckler of Sedalia. Horner received moderate injuries in the crash, and was taken to Bothwell regional health Center by Cole Camp EMS for treatment. Eckler’s condition was not listed in the report, but his vehicle had extensive damage, and was towed from the scene. The Horner vehicle was listed as totaled.

Knob Noster man injured in an early morning crash Sunday in Johnson County

Just after mid-night Sunday morning 18-year-old Dallas L. Bashrum of Knob Noster swerved his vehicle to avoid an animal in the roadway on Missouri-23 North of Northeast 400 Road in Johnson County. The Missouri State Highway patrol accident report states that caused the 2002 Toyota Bashrum was driving to travel off the roadway, and overturn. Bashrum was transported to Lee’s Summit Medical Center by Johnson County Ambulance for treatment of moderate injuries.

Whiteman Air Force Base man involved in a rollover accident Saturday afternoon

According to a Missouri state Highway patrol accident report, around 1pm Saturday afternoon 23-year-old Phillip J. Schaffer of Whiteman Air Force base received moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident on 431 Southeast road and Route “Y”. The accident happened as the 2007 Subaru Impreza Schaffer was driving travelled off the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned. The vehicle then struck a fence and came to rest on its passenger side. Schaffer received moderate injuries, and was transported to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence by Johnson County EMS for treatment.
