Hughesville Man injured in a Pettis County accident Wednesday afternoon

At 2:30pm Wednesday afternoon the Missouri State Highway patrol reported an injury accident on Route 135 South of Providence Road in Pettis County. The accident occurred as the driver of a 1991 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup, 48-year-old Samuel D. Packnett of Hughesville fell asleep at the wheel, and ran off the roadway. The report states the vehicle then struck an embankment, and a fence before coming to rest. Packnett was not wearing a seatbelt, and received moderate injuries. He was taken to University Hospital by private vehicle for treatment.

Icy roadway blamed for vehicle accident in Johnson County Wednesday morning

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, around 9:15am Wednesday morning a  2009 Chevrolet, driven by 39-year-old Adrienne J. Mccartney of Holden slid on an icy covered portion of US-50 Highway West of County Road Northwest 1801 in Johnson County. The vehicle then ran off the roadway, and overturned causing extensive damage to the vehicle. Mccartney was wearing a seat belt, and received only minor injuries. He was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment by Johnson County EMS
