One Injured, One Dead in Greene County Crash

An Everton woman died and a Springfield man was injured in a three-vehicle accident that occurred Monday morning in Greene County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a westbound 1998 Dodge pickup with a trailer was stopped on US 160, one mile west of Willard at 8:33 a.m., waiting to make a left turn into a private drive, when the trailer was rear ended by a westbound 2010 Ford Edge, driven by 36-year-old Jessica A. Landis of Everton. After the impact, the Edge traveled into the eastbound lane and was struck by an eastbound 2012 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 26-year-old Kyle A. Mejia of Seattle, Washington.

Landis was pronounced dead at 9:03 a.m. by Dr. Thomas Lewis. The body was taken to the Greene County Medical Examiner's Office.

A passenger in the Edge, 41-year-old Joshua A. Dorman of Springfield, suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield by EMS.

The Ford was totaled, while the Jeep had extensive damage. The Dodge had no damage. The driver of the Dodge, 60-year-old Robin J. Haller of Yellvillle, Ark., was reportedly uninjured.

All involved were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, according to the report.

Greene County Deputies assisted the four Patrolmen and one Conservation Agent at the scene.
