Paula Allen Named Central Bank of Sedalia’s Unsung Hero
Our Central Bank of Sedalia’s Unsung Hero for the month of September is Paula Allen.
Allen is the general manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) on South Limit in Sedalia She was nominated by Brandy Scott.
Here’s what Brandy Scott had to say about Allen:
“Paula is the general manager at KFC in Sedalia and she’s just all around great. She gives her employees chance after chance. She not like a three strikes and you’re out type of boss. She’s an ‘okay let’s do it this way and maybe it will better things’ type of boss. It doesn’t matter if she’s sick, hurting or tired, she will make sure her employees are straight before she is. Paula would give the shirt off her back for anyone in need. She is a kind-hearted, easy-going lady who is awesome to work for. She doesn’t have a terrible bone in her body.”
“That’s really nice of her,” Allen said of Scott’s statement.
Allen told us that Scott used to work for her at KFC for a few months. The restaurant closes Thanksgiving and Christmas, but is otherwise open every day of the year, 10 a.m., to 11 p.m., with 22 employees.
That KFC on South Limit is one of the busiest in the Midwest, according to Allen.
Allen began working at KFC about seven-and-a-half years ago. She stepped into the general manager’s position about two-and-a-half years ago.
“I love my job. Otherwise, I couldn’t be there 60 hours a week,” Allen said, adding that she has no plans to retire.
Allen is originally from Cole Camp in Benton County, but has lived in Sedalia for about 30 years.

What does Allen do when she’s not working?
“I like to watch football on Sundays,” she replied.
