Pedestrian Killed on U.S. 50 in Jackson County
An 18-year-old Pleasant Hill man was killed on November 25 after being struck by a vehicle in Jackson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Robert D. McCormick stepped into the path of a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer on westbound U.S. 50, driven by 24-year-old Jordan Aldrich of Sedalia. McCormick was pronounced dead at Lee's Summit Medical Center. Aldrich was not injured.
The Kansas City Star reports that McCormick had crashed his own vehicle near Lone Jack and was struck as he returned to the highway to seek help. The Star says no citations were issued in the incident.
