According to Pettis County Fire Chief Mike Harding, Wednesday was a very busy day for his Fire Department.

#1 We ran a rollover accident on B Hwy early this morning.
#2 Natural cover fire on 32nd Street
#3 160 Acre natural cover fire on Younger Rd.
#4 Natural cover fire on Green Rd
#5 Structure fire in Southgate
#6 Vehicle fire on 65 Highway
#7 Illegal burn east of Sedalia.

“On the calls listed above, we had four of them at the same time. I would like to thank all of the men and women on Pettis County Fire. Since these firefighters are volunteer many of them were allowed to leave work by their employers to help our community today.

“I would like to thank them for that! We also had several surrounding agencies that responded mutual aid. These included Sedalia Fire, Blackwater Fire, Hughesville Fire, Smithton Fire, Cole Camp Fire, PCAD, Pettis County Joint Communications and Pettis County Sheriff's Department. I appreciate all of your help,” said Chief Mike Harding.

“This is a perfect example of agencies helping agencies!” Harding concluded.
