Pettis County Sheriff’s Reports For December 27, 2021

Early Monday morning, Tommy Belsha of the 1500 block of Crestview Drive, reported to the Sheriff's Office that someone opened a credit card account under his name without his knowledge or permission. The investigation continues.
Saturday afternoon, Deputies were called to a safe that was found in the ditch in the 27000 block of Highway U. Attempts were made to contact the owner, but they were unsuccessful. The safe was taken to the Sheriff's Office for safekeeping.
Pettis County Deputies responded to the 600 block of McVey Road on the evening of December 19th for a report of a burglary no longer in progress. Deputies were informed that three firearms, several items of jewelry, and several thousand dollars in cash were taken from the residence. There are no known suspects at this time.
Last Wednesday morning, Deputies took a report of property damage in the 16000 block of US 50 in La Monte.
Deputies took a report of illegal dumping in the 20000 block of Prairie Grove Lane in La Monte last Thursday morning.
Pettis County Deputies took a report of a stolen vehicle from Superior Auto Service, 6720 West Main Street last Wednesday evening.
Last Wednesday, Ruslan Stovba of Washington state was reported missing to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office. Stovba has not been seen since Wednesday December 15th. He was last seen in the area of US 65 and I-70. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ruslan Stovba is asked to the call the Pettis County Joint Communications Center at 660-826-8100.
Last Wednesday morning, Emmanuel Marquez of Sedalia reported to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office that someone stole an Amazon package from his mailbox. The investigation continues.
On the evening of December 21st, Pettis County Deputies took a report of a burglary in the 3000 block of Oak Brook Boulevard.
Last Tuesday morning, Deputies were dispatched to the Pettis County Courthouse, 415 South Ohio Avenue, in reference to a subject check. Deputies made contact with Richard Dean Thomas. Thomas had an active Pettis County warrant for Harassment in the 1st Degree. Thomas was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail for processing.
