On Thursday at approximately 5 p.m., Pettis County Deputies, the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol executed a search warrant at 706 McVey Road, reference drug activity.

In March of this year, Pettis County Sheriff Brad Anders received intelligence implicating Melissa Tobin (Bacon) in the sales and distribution of methamphetamine.

This investigation continued for the following months culminating in today’s warrant service.

During service, Tobin was taken into custody without incident. There were five juvenile children present in the home; all of which were released to family members after a hotline report was made to Division of Family Services.

Approximately two ounces of methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and a stolen vehicle (reported stolen to Sedalia PD this week) were recovered.

Charges of 2nd degree Trafficking and Endangering the Welfare of a child are being sought with Pettis County Prosecutor Phillip Sawyer against Tobin.

She is currently being held on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.
