The Sacred Heart School Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) inducted 22 new members on Sunday, April 26, 2015 in Sacred Heart Church. Inductees, comprised of sophomores and juniors, were selected on the basis of service, academics, leadership and character. To be accepted, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and at least 20 hours of documented community service. The number of NHS members at SHS now stands at 46.
A significant event that NHS members oversee is the annual SHS Christmas Eve Dinner. Additional service projects include, but are not limited to adopt-a-highway clean up; in-school recycling initiatives; Bothwell Lub Dub Run; and Salvation Army bell ringers.
NHS has been promoting and recognizing students who demonstrate the honorable qualities of scholarship, leadership, character, and service for over 90 years.
