Sedalia Area Crime Reports for the Night of May 30, 2018

On Tuesday (May 29), Sedalia Police observed a Grand Marquis in the area of Missouri Ave and Cooper with a plate that was registered to an Oldsmobile. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of W. Cooper and made contact with two occupants in the vehicle. A passenger, 29-year old Anthony T. Jones, of Sedalia, had an active Parole Violation warrant. Jones was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with no bond.

On Tuesday morning (May 29), the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Pettis County arrested 30-year old Dustin A. Stevens, of La Farge, TX. He had a felony warrant out of Pawnee County, Kansas. Stevens was taken to the Pettis County Jail, with no bond.

On May 23, the Sedalia Police Department was notified by the Columbia PD that a stolen firearm from their jurisdiction was pawned at a local business in April 2018. The firearm was recovered, but no other details were available in the report.

On Wednesday (May 30), Pettis County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 25000 of Highway HH (Premiere Buildings) for a burglary report. The suspect(s) had stolen several tools from the building. The investigation is ongoing.
