The Sedalia City Council has approved a bid to finish the demolition of buildings located at 203 and 204 West Main Street. The decision was made at a city council meeting on Monday evening (September 24).

The approved bid from local company Miller Custom Building was for $82,000 and includes the demolition of the buildings, cleanup of the area and stabilizing of the walls and roofs of the adjoining buildings, 206 and 207 West Main. The bid allows for additional money if there are unseen problems found while stabilizing the two buildings, with the total not to exceed $111,650.

When asked about a timeline on the completion of the work, Chief Building Official for the City of Sedalia Andy Burt said they wanted the project to be completed before winter.
