A Sedalia woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Cooper County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2006 Honda Civic, driven by 35-year-old Angela D. Marquez of Sedalia, was on I-70 at the 94.4 mile marker around 4:45 p.m., when she fell asleep and the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway. The driver then overcorrected and the Honda traveled off the right side and struck a guardrail.

Marquez suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by ambulance.

The Honda was totaled.

Boonville Fire and Cooper County Deputies assisted the Troopers on scene.
