Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Johnson County early Tuesday morning.

The MSHP reported that a westbound 2011 Ford driven by 23-year-old Brandon L. Wissman of Sedalia made a lane change to pass another vehicle on Highway 50, one-half mile past NW 1801 Road at 5:35 a.m., when a 2016 Chevy driven by 19-year-old Sydnee L. Ellis of Kingsville entered the intersection, began traveling west and was struck in the rear by the Ford.

Wissman suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by EMS for medical treatment, while Ellis had minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. Both drivers were wearing a safety device, according to the report.

Both vehicles had extensive damage and were towed from the scene.
