Sedalia Man Killed in Pettis County After Truck Strikes Tree
A Sedalia man was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Pettis County on Friday evening.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 43-year-old Christopher M. Eye of Sedalia was the driver of an eastbound 2005 Chevy Silverado on the Katy Trail, one mile west of Route BB at 6:09 p.m. when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Eye was pronounced dead at the scene by Cooper County Coroner James Hurt at 7:30 p.m. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report. The body was taken to Heckart Funeral Home.
The Silverado was totaled.
The Patrol was assisted by Park Rangers Yu and Richerson.
